As a child, our founder was inspired by the poem “The Duel” by Eugene Field, and the characters the Gingham Dog and the Calico Cat. After 30+ years in the apparel industry, it was apparent that gingham had become a mainstay in men’s fashion, and the brand name The Gingham Dog was born.
